Western North Carolina is mountain country. The area features countless waterfalls. The waterfall above is Triple Falls located in DuPont State Forest.

Transylvania County

Known as “The Land of Waterfalls”, many of the waterfalls in North Carolina are clustered here either in DuPont State Forest or Pisgah National Forest.

Hooker Falls

Located in DuPont State Forest, this waterfall is a short walk from the Hooker Falls parking area. Hooker Falls is located just south of Brevard in Transylvania County.

Turtleback Falls

Accessible by trail starting at Gorges State Park, in Lake Toxaway, NC, also in Transylvania County.
